Wholesale Easter Cards: 2027 Quilling Order Guide

If you plan to sell wholesale Easter cards in spring 2027, the time to brief your supplier is now. Western Easter falls on 28 March 2027 and Orthodox Easter on 2 May 2027, so a handmade quilling range ordered from Vietnam in November or December can be sampled, produced, inspected and shipped with time to spare before cards go on display in late February. This guide sets out the order calendar, the designs that tend to move at Easter, and the decisions that keep a first Easter order simple.

Easter is a smaller card occasion than Christmas or Mother’s Day, but it is a steady one and it is growing as a gifting moment. The US National Retail Federation projected record Easter spending of $24.9 billion in 2026, with 80% of consumers planning to celebrate. In the UK, the trade title PG Buzz reported that John Lewis saw Easter week card sales up 36% on the previous year, and several independent card shops sold out of Easter cards before the weekend.

When should you order wholesale Easter cards for 2027?

Work backwards from the date your cards need to be on the shop floor, not from Easter Sunday itself. Retailers in the UK and much of Europe put Easter cards out from late February, and in 2027 the UK’s Mothering Sunday falls on 7 March, only three weeks before Easter. That means your Easter cards and your Mother’s Day cards will compete for the same display space and the same delivery slot, so it often makes sense to ship both ranges together. (If you are also planning Mother’s Day, see our 2027 Mother’s Day quilling order guide.)

Dates below follow the Old Farmer’s Almanac Easter calendar. The month windows are planning guidance; your actual schedule depends on design complexity, quantity and shipping mode, which we confirm with every quotation.

One date every buyer of Vietnamese goods should mark is Tết, the Lunar New Year. In 2027 it begins on 6 February, and Vietnam’s culture ministry has backed a seven-day public holiday from 4 to 10 February 2027 (the final schedule is set by the government). Workshops and logistics slow down around the holiday, so for a Western Easter order the safest plan is to have cards inspected, packed and handed over for shipping before the break.

Orthodox Easter matters if you sell into Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia or Orthodox communities elsewhere. In 2027 it falls five weeks after Western Easter, which gives you a second, smaller selling window that can be served from a separate shipment or simply from later stock in the same range.

Which Easter card designs sell best for retailers?

UK retailer feedback after recent Easter seasons points in a consistent direction: shoppers bought both religious and contemporary designs, card multipacks and title cards for grandchildren and friends did well, and lower-priced cards moved fastest in some shops (PG Buzz retailer round-up). Handmade quilling cards sit at the premium end of that mix. They do not need to compete with value multipacks; they work as the “special” card a customer buys for one person.

Spring flowers and natural motifs

Daffodils, tulips, crocuses, cherry blossom and lily of the valley translate beautifully into quilled paper because petals are built from shaped coils and teardrop rolls, and a daffodil card keeps selling after Easter as a general spring card.

Eggs, chicks, lambs and bunnies

Decorated eggs are a natural quilling subject because the oval outline can be filled with patterned coils in pastel colours. Chicks, lambs and rabbits suit younger recipients and the “for grandchildren” category.

Religious and faith-based designs

Crosses framed with flowers, doves, lilies and stained-glass inspired patterns serve church shops, Christian bookstores and customers who prefer a faith message. If you want a verse or greeting inside the card, supply the exact wording and language and approve it on the sample, since text is one of the details buyers most often want to adjust.

How do you build an Easter quilling card range from Vietnam?

A tight, well-chosen range usually sells better than a long one, especially at Easter when the display window is short. A practical approach is a few hero designs in your strongest motif, a small group of faith-based cards if your customers expect them, and one or two “all-spring” designs that stay relevant into April and May. Browse the styles we already produce on our handmade greeting cards page as a starting point, or send your own artwork.

  • Custom designs: share a sketch, mood board or existing card and the partner workshop develops a quilled version for sample approval.
  • Logo printing or attachment: your brand or your corporate client’s logo can be printed or attached on the card or back panel.
  • Private label packaging: sleeves, header cards and outer packaging can carry your brand so the range sits naturally in your store.
  • Colour palettes: Easter works best in soft pastels such as butter yellow, lavender, sage and blush; agree a palette at the brief stage so all designs look like one collection.

How are handmade Easter cards checked before shipping?

Every card is made by hand at our partner workshop, mostly by women from the local community living near the workshop. Because each card is handmade, small natural variations are part of the product, but they should never affect the design you approved. That is why every order goes through the same four-step quality process:

  1. Pre-production sample approval: nothing goes into production until you approve the sample design, colours and packaging.
  2. Mid-production check: work in progress is checked at the workshop against the approved sample.
  3. Card-by-card inspection: each card is inspected before it is packed.
  4. Carton count with photos and video: cartons are counted and you receive photos and video before the goods are handed over for shipping.

Each shipment comes with the export documents importers need, including a commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin (CO). If you are importing into the United States, our guide to importing quilling cards into the USA walks through the customs side step by step.

What affects the cost and timing of an Easter order?

Seasonal orders follow the same principles as any handmade card order, but the deadline is fixed, so it pays to understand which choices add time. The main factors are:

  • Design complexity: dense filigree with many small coils takes longer to make than a bold, open design.
  • Number of designs and quantity per design: more designs mean more samples to approve and more set-ups at the workshop.
  • Customisation: custom artwork, inside verses, logos and private label packaging each add an approval step.
  • Packaging and shipping mode: protective packing for fragile raised paper and the choice between sea and air freight both shape the final schedule.

Because Easter, Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day all fall in the first quarter, many buyers plan them as a single spring programme. Our Valentine’s 2027 order guide covers the earliest of the three.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is November too early to order wholesale Easter cards?

No. For handmade cards shipped from Vietnam, November and December are the right months to brief and approve samples for a 28 March 2027 Easter. Ordering early leaves room for sample changes, careful inspection and sea freight, it lets you finish production before the Tết holiday in early February, and it lets you ship Easter and Mother’s Day ranges together.

Can I order custom Easter designs with my own branding?

Yes. We accept custom designs based on your artwork or brief, can print or attach your logo, and offer private label packaging. Every custom element is shown on the pre-production sample so you approve it before production begins.

Do you cover Orthodox Easter as well as Western Easter?

Yes. In 2027 Orthodox Easter is on 2 May, five weeks after Western Easter. Buyers in Greece, Cyprus and Eastern Europe can schedule a later shipment, or use the same spring range with designs suited to their customers.

How are fragile quilled cards protected in transit?

Raised paper coils need protection from pressure, so cards are packed in sleeves and cartons designed to avoid crushing, and cartons are counted and recorded on photo and video before handover. We discuss the packing format with you when we quote, based on how you will store and sell the cards.

How quickly will I get a quotation?

We reply within one business day. Tell us your target market, the designs or motifs you have in mind, rough quantities and your in-store date, and we will come back with a quotation and a suggested schedule.
